SHIKO VUN
was born in 1977, in a lively Mediterranean neighborhood of Tel Aviv—surrounded by warmth, color, and creativity. Since I can remember, I’ve been drawn to beauty: in people, in textures, in fleeting moments. That passion led me into the world of fashion, where I’ve worked for over 20 years as a makeup artist, collaborating with leading photographers and designers in Tel Aviv, New York, and Milan.
But long before that, as a gay teenager, I fell in love with history. I searched for myself in its pages—but found nothing. The stories of men like me were missing, erased, or ignored. That silence stayed with me.
Years later, I turned it into art.
Using AI as my primary medium, I reimagine lost moments in queer history. I blend historical research with visual storytelling to create scenes that never had the chance to be documented—but deserve to be seen. Each image is a mix of memory and imagination, an attempt to give form to lives that were hidden in the shadows.
My work is a tribute to those who came before us—men who loved, who struggled, who existed without ever being acknowledged. Through these images, I try to make the invisible visible, and offer a space where Gay Men History can be remembered, honored, and felt.
GAY MEN HISTORY
Not your average history book
Gay Men History is a bold, visual journey through queer time. With 350 pages of stunning AI-generated imagery, rare historical insights, and artistic imagination, this coffee table book brings to life the hidden stories of men who loved men—from prehistoric caves to Berlin nightclubs in 1900.
Every page is a mix of beauty, resistance, and revelation. Think of it as a queer time machine—equal parts archive, artwork, and love letter to those who came before us.
Why this book matters
This book isn’t just about the past—it’s about visibility, memory, and pride. Gay Men History was created to honor the lives that were erased, to celebrate the ones who dared, and to inspire those still discovering their place in the story. It belongs on every queer bookshelf, in every creative space, and in the hands of anyone who believes our history deserves to be seen.
GALERIE NEWMAN
QUEER CONTEMPORARY ART

In this series, I use AI-generated imagery to reimagine intimate, untold moments in gay men’s history. Inspired by vintage photography, queer nightlife, and lost spaces of connection—like public baths and secret bars—each image is a fictional memory that feels uncannily real.
The work is not about nostalgia. It's a way to honor the beauty, joy, and resilience of men who loved men, long before they had the words or freedom to say it out loud.
These aren't just imagined scenes—they're emotional time capsules.
Pan
These charcoal drawings are an intimate exploration of male presence, vulnerability, and desire. Each portrait, each body, each glance is trying to capture something raw and real.
As a queer artist, I’m drawn to what’s often hidden or overlooked: the beauty of aging, the poetry of touch, the quiet intensity of a gaze. This series is both a personal archive and a visual celebration of men in all their forms—tender, strong, erotic, and true.
